Soccer World Cup -summer school-

Hi, guys. Recently I can't feel so happy, because, Japan soccer team loses on World Cup which is held on fore years in once. Japan fought against Cote d' Ivoire, Greece and Colombia. But for three games, Japan lose 2, and draw 1. Japan had never won to against countries this time.



4 years ago, which is 2010. World Cup had been held in South Africa. That time, Japan won to two games out of three games and even it advanced to quarterfinal games. It remained big achievements, and all Japanese supporters were thrilled by these games.



But this year, all Japanese supporters were disappointing. Japan even couldn't win in first game, and they ended all too soon. This time even Japanese soccer team's hero, Keisuke Honda who has been respected by most Japanese and foreigner supporters, couldn't make so many goals. 4 years ago, he made 2 goals, (other players couldn't made goals though) and became a Japanese soccer team hero. This year, he made a goal in first game with Cote d' Ivoire, even though, he missed many, many opportunities to make goals.



After games, he said in press conference, "I'm very regrettable when I think through these fore years. I totally can't understand what these four years was. We were preparing for this World Cup but eventually we couldn't win. This is our fault, and I do apologize to people who support us."

Personally, I think this time, Japan couldn't show their cooperation. They couldn't pass around ball to players, and it demonstrates it wasn't really team play. Even though I think they did their best, they were trying to catch chances, and tried to make goal. Maybe they were very nervous, because against countries is very strong team, and have many skilled player, so that's why they couldn't do well.

Japanese people or supporter are very kind, they don't jeer to Japanese player even they were disappointing. But opposite from that, media or newspaper critique a lot to them. Especially newspaper.
As you can see from below picture, it said Honda is defeated dog, or he doesn't do what he said. Anyway that article was awful, and many people disappeared to this article either.



Well, I want to say "Otukaresama" to all soccer players. All of them did their best. And thank you so much to fight with other countries and give palpitation for us.
